Tanner has 12 years of experience serving with various emergency medical services in rural Iowa. He began his career in high school as a volunteer in rural central Iowa, where he experienced firsthand the challenges facing rural agencies. In addition to his EMS service, Tanner has ventured into business management and marketing. As a 15-year-old, he developed financial statements and led meetings with venture capitalists, spoke at youth business camps, and interviewed with local and national news networks. Since then, he has further honed his skills and shifted his focus to EMS. He currently serves as a paramedic for city, county, and private transport services in central Iowa. His breadth of experience allows him to understand the depth of inequality between rural and urban EMS and develop unique solutions to the issues the system faces.

Jeff has been a member of the Central lowa Fire/EMS community for over 35 years. From serving as a volunteer in Carlisle while still in high school to full-time positions with the Waukee FD, MercyOne Ambulance, and many places in between, he was medically retired in 2018. Since then, he has remained active, serving first responders as a dispatcher and community health paramedic. Most recently, Jeff has become a Crisis Canines of the Midlands Certified Crisis Response K9 handler with his new partner, K9 Abby. He is passionate about first responders' mental health and reducing job stress, allowing responders to continue serving at their best.

Ryan has over 20 years of experience working in EMS, both as a provider and in administration. He began his EMS career as a paramedic and continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Business Management and a Master of Business Administration. Ryan is the Regional Emergency Transport Director for MercyOne, where he has transformed and expanded the program, unifying operations across MercyOne and MercyOne Genesis in Iowa and Western Illinois. Ryan oversaw the development and implementation of Iowa's first and only maternal transport team, offering specialized care and transport for patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. He has experience leading non-profit organizations, serving as president of the Iowa Air Medical Transport Association and as former president of Kyle's Day Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting first responders’ mental health.
